London’s first large-scale Japanese outdoor music festival arrives at Crystal Palace Bowl on August 7th as part of Live Nation’s City Pop Waves series and the wider Palace Bowl Presents summer programme.

Headlining the event is legendary guitarist Masayoshi Takanaka, returning to the UK following his two O2 Academy Brixton shows, which sold out within minutes. He will perform an extended two-hour set.

Junko Yagami, a leading name in late 1970s and 1980s Japanese pop and the voice behind ‘Tasogare no Bay City’, joins the line-up alongside jazz pianist Himiko Kikuchi, who will perform her 1987 jazz fusion album ‘FLYING BEAGLE’ in full.

Ginger Root, the indie soul project of US multi-instrumentalist Cameron Lew, will also appear with a DJ set.

Doors open at 5pm on the day, with a 10:30pm curfew.

Festival presale: Thursday, February 26th at 10:00am
General sale: Friday, February 27th at 10:00am
