Japanese rock quartet
[Champagne] announced yesterday that they will be hitting Brighton’s
biggest music festival The Great Escape for their first ever UK
performance this May!
Formed back in 2007 by
Syria raised lead vocalist and guitarist Yohei Kawakami, and American
grown bassist Hiroyuki Isobe, the band have managed to work their way
up the Japanese rock scene with their seamless blend of indie and
post-punk sounds combined with a sophisticated mix of English and
Japanese lyrics. This has lead them to play some of Japan’s most
prestigious festivals such as ROCK IN JAPAN and SUMMER SONIC, as well
as put on a number of completely sold out shows across the country.
Now with three albums
under their belt as of their 2012 release ‘Schwarzenegger’,
[Champagne] now aim to make their way into the international market.
Will they be successful? Be sure to grab your tickets to find out!
