PIKACYU-MAKOTO, two of the most prominent figureheads in Japan’s underground psych/pop scene- speed guru Kawabata Makoto (Acid Mothers Temple) and Pikacyu (Afrirampo)- will return this May for a short UK tour.
With both bands touring together over the years, even going as far as to temporarily fusing to make Acid Mothers Afrirampo for the album We Are Acid Mothers Afrirampo! In 2005, PIKACYU-MAKOTO refined the all-star team leaving Pikacyu’s manic drums and vocals and Makoto’s deranged guitar skills.
The duo has currently announced shows in Brighton, Colchester, and London, and will also be joining the massive line-up at this year’s Raw Power Festival alongside MELT-BANANA, the piqnic, and many more top psychedelic, electronic, and experimental acts from across the globe.
