Indie pop super group Genie High have dropped their latest music video for Eclair.
The new song is used as the theme for the newly released live-action adaptation of Mizuki Tsujimura’s 2014 novel Haken Anime! (Anime Supremacy!).
One of the band’s peppiest releases yet, Eclair pays homage to the film’s story with a happy-go-lucky ska-tinged pop sound.
The song also features guest vocals from voice actor and solo artist Marika Kouno. Known for her roles in numerous shows including Uma Musume Pretty Derby, Re:Zero, and No Guns Life, she will feature in the film as popular idol voice actress Aoi Gunno.
Set within Japan’s highly competitive animation industry, Haken Anime!’s story follows first time anime director Hitomi Saito as she attempts to create a popular anime worthy of the title “haken”.
Well known production studios Production I.G and Toei Animation, as well as other top-notch creators and voice actors have also participated in the movie.
