Underground-supergroup ULTRA have just released their debut full-length album titled ‘Tōtei Oyobanai’ (‘到底及ばない’).
Formed in November 2020, ULTRA’s line-up is comprised of members from some of Japan’s most notable underground rock acts. Including, Megumi Tsubosaka (acd., ecosystem), Natsuko Miyamoto (MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS), Shuhei Yagimoto (WOMAN), and Kou Sugimoto (TheSpringSummer, Liaroid Cinema).
Guitar driven, two powerful frontwomen, and full of groovy yet hard-hitting tight rhythms, ULTRA’s debut album brings a fresh yet edgy alternative rock sound, showcasing unique elements from each player in this four-member ensemble.
Shinya Ogino, known for his work with bands like Homecomings and yuragi, took charge of the recording and mixing. Additionally, the artwork for the album was handled by Masaya Shimizu of indie outfit CARD.
To celebrate the album’s release, ULTRA will hold live shows in Tokyo and Osaka on December 12th at Shindaita FEVER, and CONPASS on December 20th.
