The UK theatrical release date for the latest project by renowned rock artist and composer Yoshiki, ‘YOSHIKI: UNDER THE SKY’, has been announced.
Directed by Yoshiki himself, the documentary is set to premiere in ODEON cinemas across the UK starting December 1st, with a special Q&A featuring Yoshiki at Odeon Covent Garden scheduled for December 5th.
‘YOSHIKI: UNDER THE SKY’ captures the emotional aftermath of the pandemic, weaving a narrative of loss and global unity. The documentary boasts a star-studded lineup, featuring interviews and performances by international luminaries such as Sarah Brightman, HYDE, The Chainsmokers, SUGIZO, St. Vincent, and others.
Filmed in Germany, Beijing, Tokyo, and LA, the documentary provides an intimate look into the healing potency of music. As the driving force behind X Japan and The Last Rockstars, Yoshiki’s directorial debut offers viewers a glimpse into his profound connection with music and his personal encounters with loss.
The UK release follows the film’s successful run in Japan, where it premiered in over 70 theatres via Toho Cinemas. More global release dates are expected to be announced.
Yoshiki’s multifaceted career includes composing a concerto for the Emperor of Japan, being the first Japanese artist to perform at the Royal Albert Hall, as well as receiving international acclaim for his philanthropic endeavours.
