Ado, the renowned utaite, has conquered Japan’s digital download charts with her first-ever cover album, ‘Ado’s Utattemita Album‘. The latest sales report by GfK Japan, shared by Billboard JAPAN, reveals a remarkable 5,292 downloads, securing a significant lead over the competition.
The album, true to its title, features covers of Vocaloid and J-pop hits. Among the eclectic selection are renditions of ‘Dried Flowers’ (Yuuri), ‘Tsumi to Batsu’ (Ringo Sheena), ‘unravel’ (TK from Ling tosite sigure), and ‘Buriki no Dance’ (Hinata Denko).
ADO ANNOUNCES EUROPEAN AND US DATES AS PART OF ‘WISH’ WORLD TOUR
In a league of its own, ‘Ado’s Utattemita Album’ surpasses the competition, leaving King Gnu’s ‘THE GREATEST UNKNOWN’ in second place with 797 downloads and Midnight Grand Orchestra’s ‘Starpeggio’ in third with 651 downloads.
Ado’s achievement is underscored by the album’s unique concept. Fans actively participated in suggesting songs, resulting in an extraordinary “utattemita” album rather than a conventional cover collection.
In addition, earlier this month, Ado unveiled European and North American tour dates as part of her first-ever world tour titled ‘Wish’.
