Gotch, aka ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION frontman Gotoh Masafumi, is set to release a fresh solo track, ‘Stateless feat. YonYon’, for the first time in nearly a year.
Dropping on January 10th, ‘Stateless’ delves into the theme of human connection transcending race and nationality amid societal confusion and violence. With lyrics echoing the sentiment of leaping into laughter to cast off differences, the track emphasises acknowledging each other beyond attributes and borders.
Filmed during ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION’s performance in Indonesia last August, the music video encapsulates the essence of the song. Directed by Mitch Nakano, known for his past collaborations with Gotch, the video showcases dancers and musicians from Jakarta.
A 7-inch version of the single is scheduled for release on February 14th, with pre-orders available on Gotch’s official SPM STORE. As a bonus, the release will feature a remixed and remastered version of ‘Vegetable’, a track from his 2021 split EP ‘Goto and Togo’.
