Funk rockers Kroi surprised fans at their sold-out Budokan show last night by announcing their upcoming 3rd album, ‘Unspoiled’. This revelation unfolded during their one-man performance, shared through a documentary-style video, now accessible on the band’s YouTube channel.
Titled ‘Kroi Exploration Series Episode 961: “The True Identity of the Darmas Tribe Lurking in the Raging Depths of the Jungle!”‘, the 5-minute mockumentary shows the band discovering news about the new album deep in the forest. Despite confirming the album is currently in production, no additional details, including a release date, have been disclosed.

In conjunction with the album announcement, Kroi have confirmed a nationwide tour named ‘Kroi Live Tour 2024’, starting on August 23rd. The tour will visit 10 major cities across Japan, concluding with a performance at Tokyo’s Zepp Divercity on September 26th.
Adding to their momentum, Kroi are set to make their US debut in March at the 2024 SXSW Music Festival in Austin, Texas.
Kroi’s 2024 has already been marked by several career highlights. With their distinctive fusion of J-rock, funk, and hip-hop, the upcoming release of their 3rd album might propel them into becoming Japan’s next sought-after music export.
