Celebrating their 25th anniversary, Utada Hikaru has announced the release date of their new single ‘Naniirodemonai Hana’ (‘A Flower of No Color’), following its premiere on the first episode of the new Fuji TV drama ‘Kimi ga Kokoro wo Kureta kara’ (‘The Gift of Your Heart’).
Scheduled for digital release on February 12th, ‘Naniirodemonai Hana’, a mid-tempo piano ballad encapsulating a straightforward expression of love, is set to feature on their highly anticipated greatest hits album ‘SCIENCE FICTION’. Commenting on the song, Utada Hikaru mentions its candid nature.
“It’s been a while since I wrote such a candid love song; I hope it resonates with anyone feeling hesitant to believe in something.”
A special video, showcasing a short version of the theme song, is now available on Fuji TV’s official YouTube channel.
In addition, 2024 marks Utada Hikaru’s 25th debut anniversary, celebrated with the announcement of their first-ever best-of album, ‘SCIENCE FICTION’. Due to release sometime in 2024, this definitive compilation of iconic hits will take fans on a journey through time, capturing the essence of their sensational career spanning a quarter-century.
Simultaneously, the ‘SCIENCE FICTION TOUR 2024’, their first nationwide tour in 6 years, was announced. While specific dates remain undisclosed, the unveiling of a dedicated tour website sparked fervent anticipation for what lies ahead in 2024.
