Additionally, the performance incorporated scenes from the anime, with choreography by Sota Kawashima of the dance group GANMI.
‘Idol’, the opening song of the anime sensation ‘Oshi no Ko’, swiftly became a cultural phenomenon after its April release. Ultimately, the track topped international charts and accumulated 5 billion streams in just seven months.
As YOASOBI united with fellow artists to bid farewell to the year, they not only celebrated their accomplishments, but also embraced the theme of the night: ‘Borderless – transcending and connecting on New Year’s Eve’.
Clips of all performances at this year’s ‘Kōhaku Uta Gassen’, including sets from YOSHIKI, MAN WITH A MISSION, Superfly, Perfume, ATARASHII GAKKO!, and more, are available on NHK MUSIC’s official YouTube channel.
