TsuShiMaMiRe to celebrate 25th anniversary with new album ‘MIZUMONO’ and US tour

Tokyo’s underground alt-rock icons, TsuShiMaMiRe, will mark their monumental 25th anniversary with the release of their 20th full-length album, ‘MIZUMONO’ (バンドは水物), on March 13th, 2024.

The album features 11 tracks, including a re-recorded version of their iconic song ‘BAKA MOTO KAREE’ (‘Stupid Curry’), along with new compositions showcasing their eclectic style, ranging from hardcore noise to introspective indie rock. Their 2022 single ‘SHOW YOU MY SOY SAUCE’ also makes an appearance, having already gained recognition as part of the Adult Swim compilation ‘Japan Is Loud’ alongside artists like Boris, Otoboke Beaver and Melt Banana.

In January, TsuShiMaMiRe unveiled the album’s flagship track ‘24030’, an infectious rock anthem bursting with fun energy. With lyrics inviting listeners into their world of joy at address 24030, the accompanying music video showcases footage from their 2023 USA tour.

CD and digital versions of the album are now available for pre-order from TsuShiMaMiRe’s Bandcamp page. Additionally, a very limited edition transparent cassette version of the album is also available for pre-order via Gerpfast Records.

Comment from TsuShiMaMiRe

“バンドは水物 (pr. bando wa mizumono) is a phrase we made up and have used since our 10th anniversary. It roughly means that being a band is a gamble (mizumono); a matter of chance, unpredictable and out of anyone’s control. No one knows what the future holds!

To continue in this band over the past 25 years has been an exceptional and rare honor for us. Our band is a miracle!”
This album has 11 songs, each of which offers a unique perspective into our world; our joys and sorrows. Please tune in to TsuShiMaMiRe’s emotional journey and enjoy the ride!”

In celebration of their milestone anniversary, the trio will embark on an extensive tour spanning 36 shows starting in North American on April 18th in Austin Texas and ending in Shibuya on July 8th. Fans can expect balls-to-the-wall performances that blend theatricality with brutal honesty, as TsuShiMaMiRe continue to rock the world with their never-ending energy.
