Ado has confirmed the release of her long-awaited second original album, ‘Zanmu’, slated to hit shelves on July 10th. This album follows her debut studio album ‘Kyogen’, released in 2022.

Comprising 16 songs, the album features new recordings of 12 previously released mega-hits such as ‘Show’, the SPYxFAMILY opening ‘Kura Kura’, and Lotte Chocolate’s 60th-anniversary track ‘Chocolat Cadabra’, alongside four brand-new, yet-to-be-revealed tracks. The album’s visuals, including its jacket design, were crafted by ORIHARA, who fulfills the role of Ado’s image director.

Expressing her sentiments regarding the album’s title, Ado shares her heartfelt reflections on the significance of ‘Zanmu’ and her evolution as an artist.

“Up until now, I’ve released ‘Kyogen’, ‘Uta no Uta: ONE PIECE FILM RED’, and ‘Ado no Utattemita Album’, but surprisingly, this is only my second original album. I hope you can enjoy the worldview of Ado, which has powered up since the first album.

“Zanmu” is a real word, meaning an unfulfilled dream. A dream that lingers even after waking up. I’ve always liked this word and thought it represented the dreams I’ve fulfilled in my life, as well as the youth that didn’t come true.

Various things become the past, glorified as the past, shining brightly. Along with the poignant feelings within me, who have been working alone for so long, I want Ado’s existence, singing, songs, Vocaloid, and the album to be a lingering dream for everyone listening… I want it to be “Zanmu.” And that’s why I chose this title.”

Additionally, the limited-edition versions will include Blu-ray/DVD discs featuring footage from Ado’s sold-out performance at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles in March as part of her ‘Wish’ world tour.
