MUCC have signed a deal with Tokuma Japan Communications, marking their third ever major debut since their formation in 1997. This announcement coincided with the unveiling of their latest single, ‘Ai no Uta’, scheduled for release on June 4th.

The news was initially shared on April 1st via MUCC’s social media channels, featuring an artist photo evoking vintage visual kei aesthetics and the statement “major debut decided!”. Naturally, the timing on April Fools’ Day sparked speculation. However, the band later confirmed the authenticity of the announcement (minus the new look), officially solidifying their third major label signing.

MUCC channels vintage visual kei aesthetics for their April Fool’s announcement.

Discussing the signing, vocalist Tatsurou remarked:

“To think that a band as troublesome as us would be accepted! We’ll continue to enjoy pushing the boundaries of the ‘major’ framework.”

Guitarist MiyA added:

“In our 27th year, I never thought we’d debut again. We didn’t announce it the first time, so we’re announcing it this time!”

In addition to the release, MUCC will be hosting in-store events across Japan starting from May, leading up to their nationwide tour titled “MUCC TOUR 2024 ‘Love Together’”, kicking off on June 9th. The tour will include 18 shows spread across 11 locations throughout the country.”
