ATARASHII GAKKO! confirm new album ‘AG! Calling’ and announce North American world tour dates

Progressive J-pop phenomenon, ATARASHII GAKKO! have unveiled their highly anticipated 3rd studio album, ‘AG! Calling’, along with a series of North American tour dates as part of their 2024 world tour.

ATARASHII GAKKO! (meaning “new school” in Japanese) comprises four young women who are reshaping the landscape of girl groups. Renowned for their genre-blending music and viral dance routines, ATARASHII GAKKO! represent a new wave of Japanese artists making significant strides taking over the international music scene.

Set to release digitally on June 7th, ‘AG! Calling’ will serve as their first full-length album in 5 years, and their first launched under 88rising, the group’s U.S.-based label. Additionally, their new track‘Fly High’ features as the theme song for the Netflix animated movie Baki Hanma VS Kengan Ashura, streaming June 6th.

Serving as Part II of their world tour, ATARASHII GAKKO! will take to North America for 11 shows across the continent starting in Vancouver on September 26th. The news follows their previously announced stops in Europe and Asia which kick off in June.

Earlier this year, ATARASHII GAKKO! made their Coachella debut with a standout performance as part of the groundbreaking ’88rising Futures’ set, as well as their electrifying Gobi Stage closers. They’re also set to perform at 88rising’s 2-day festival Head in the Clouds in New York today at 6:25pm (EDT).
