Today, MILLENNIUM PARADE, the creative collective spearheaded by Daiki Tsuneta of King Gnu, unveiled their latest single, ‘GOLDENWEEK’.

‘GOLDENWEEK’ was first teased on May 3rd, coinciding with the news of MILLENNIUM PARADE’s signing with labels RCA (UK) and EPIC (US), both under the umbrella of Sony Music Entertainment. Beyond signaling a fresh era for the band, this single also serves as the campaign anthem for a visually intense collaboration with Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation® PULSE Elite™ wireless headset.

The track captures the essence of Tokyo’s creative energy, reflecting the collective’s multifaceted talents across music, film direction, visual effects, design, and illustration.

Reflecting on the single, Daiki offered some insight into the track’s inspiration:

“My inspiration comes from my personal experiences. I changed my environment to create this music, going to places like London and Los Angeles, and I had the chance to see how people there reacted to my music for the first time. It inspired me to play around with MILLENNIUM PARADE’s sound.”

With their position solidified as one of Japan’s foremost collectives, MILLENNIUM PARADE now looks beyond, aiming to share Tokyo’s sonic essence with global listeners. Daiki Tsuneta articulates:

“We’re ready to bring the sound of Tokyo to international listeners…From the beginning of MILLENNIUM PARADE we’ve been thinking about the perception of international listeners and what they think about Japan.”
