Vicke Blanka introduces new English-language track ‘Never Run’

Vicke Blanka has surprised fans with the release of his latest track, ‘Never Run’, his first single featuring all-English lyrics. The digital single, released on May 5th, shows a new sonic direction for the artist of Black Clover fame.

Debuting the song at ‘VK Blanka presents RAINBOW ROAD -Den-‘, Vicke Blanka performed alongside his live band at Festival Hall in Osaka, alongside Ayaka and Ryokuoushoku Shakai.

‘Never Run’ draws inspiration from Vicke Blanka’s recent North American tour, where the energy of his live performances influenced the track’s beats and arrangements. Collaborating with musician Josh Cumbee on mixing and arrangement, as well as co-writing the lyrics, the song embodies a global sound with English lyrics.

I gained a lot of inspiration during my North American tour, and after I returned to Japan, I was filled with new ideas and the urge to write music – so I did.

This song has a driving beat, which I hope you’ll enjoy.

Vicke Blanka

The music video, directed by Akira Odagiri, known for his work on Vicke Blanka’s 2023 track ‘Snake’, showcases the artist’s dance moves against a stylish cityscape backdrop.

Alongside the release, Vicke Blanka announced the ‘VK Blanka HALL TOUR 2024’, starting on September 27th in Aichi Prefecture. The tour will cover six cities in Japan, ending on December 8th in Fukuoka. South American fans can also catch Vicke Blanka live at Anime Friends 2024 in Brazil on July 21th.
