Kento Nakajima and Tatsuya Kitani form GEMN for ‘Oshi no Ko’ season 2 theme

GEMN, the artists behind ‘Oshi no Ko’ season 2 opening theme ‘Fatale’, have been revealed as Kento Nakajima and Tatsuya Kitani.

The announcement of GEMN’s (pronounced “Gem”) identity came on June 30th, over a month after fans began speculating online following the release of the first promotional video featuring ‘Fatale’. Alongside the revelation, GEMN released an official artist photo and set the digital single’s release date for July 4th.

Kento Nakajima is renowned for his roles in film and television since his debut with the boy band Sexy Zone (now Timelesz) in 2011. He gained recognition not only as an idol but also as an actor, starring in dramas like ‘BAD BOYS J’ and its sequel. His departure from Sexy Zone in 2024 marked a shift toward focusing more on solo endeavors.

Tatsuya Kitani, a prominent solo artist who first made his mark in the music scene through independent online releases starting around 2014. Since then, he has released hit tracks such as ‘Where Our Blue Is’, the opening song for ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ Season 2 Part 1, and ‘Preview of Me’, the opening theme for ‘Go! Go! Loser Ranger!’. In addition to his solo career, Kitani has been active as a songwriter, contributing to various artists’ repertoires, including his work with sajou no hana.

Messages from both Kento Nakajima and Tatsuya Kitani, along with the lyrics of the TV-size version of ‘Fatale’ are available on the official GEMN website. Additionally, the site also includes insights from the creators of ‘Oshi no Ko’, Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari.

About Oshi no Ko

‘Oshi no Ko’, serialised in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump since April 2020, follows the story of Gorou, a gynecologist who meets his favorite idol, Ai Hoshino. After an unexpected incident, Gorou reincarnates as Ai’s child, propelling himself into the entertainment industry. The anime’s second season will feature the ‘Tokyo Blade’ arc, with characters Aqua, Kana Arima, and Akane Kurokawa participating in a stage play.

‘Oshi no Ko’ season 2 will premiere on July 3rd across 35 stations in Japan and globally through the HIDIVE streaming service. Furthermore, the second main preview, released via the ‘Oshi no Ko’ YouTube channel, announced that Hitsujibungaku will provide the ending theme titled ‘Burning’.
