Matenrou Opera release icy new single ‘Yoake wa Yuki to Tomoni’

Power metal VK group Matenrou Opera bring us into an ice filled world with new single ‘Yoake wa Yuki to Tomoni’. The single officially released yesterday on June 19th.

‘Yoake wa Yuki to Tomoni’ is everything you can expect from Matenrou Opera; a dramatic build, melodic guitar, and singer Sono’s distinctive emotional vocals. The track’s icy sound is a stark contrast to Japan’s June weather, a feeling that’s further elevated by the MV. Set in a cold snowy icescape, the video sees the members performing in the fantastical land. The video is directed by Kotarou Nogami from Tokyo based video production company Grafica.Film, who have previously worked with Matenrou Opera, as well as artists like Sable Hills, and Mori Calliope.

Additionally, the single features a B side track ‘Shibitotachi no Paredo’, and an instrumental version of the title track. It is available on CD now from the band’s official website.

Fittingly, the band will head out on their ‘SNOW IN MIDSUMMER’ tour in July, performing 8 shows, finishing in August. The final dates are a double feature at Tokyo’s DAIKANYAMA UNIT. As well as this, the band recently performed some interesting shows- a girls only and a boys only show. Plus, Matenrou Opera have also announced dates for their 2025 Japan tour, to start in February next year.
