TAKERU gets devilish in new video ‘SLY DEVIL (feat. Mek & BLVELY)’

Former SuG frontman TAKERU has just dropped the video for his latest single ‘SLY DEVIL (feat. Mek & BLVELY)’. This release marks his third collaborative single in 2024.

TAKERU posted on X (formerly Twitter) describing the track as being a “live anthem mixture”. ‘SLY DEVIL’ is a fast-paced hyperpop/rock track, featuring a fast drum n bass like beat, and simple yet catchy guitar. The track also features Mek of Thailand based group Saint After Six, and vocalist and guitarist BLVELY. Not only this, but ‘SLY DEVIL’ is a fully collaborative song, co-written by TAKERU, Mek, and BLVELY, with producer Toki assisting with arrangement.

Also on X, TAKERU recently stated that he’s currently able to do whatever he likes in terms of art, and feels that he’s continuing to reach new heights as an artist. However, he mentions that doing solo independent work without a specific genre is like “running a small shop on a remote island”, alluding to the difficulties independent artists face in getting their music heard. He urged fans to share ‘SLY DEVIL’ and to let him know what they think of the track.

A world tour is also on the horizon for TAKERU, with the ‘SLY DEVIL WORLD TOUR’ to begin in July this year. The tour will take him across 5 cities in 3 countries, starting in LA, and wrapping up in Kyoto. Tickets are now available for the Japan shows, with full details and tickets for international shows to follow. There is currently no news on a European tour.
