Ado challenges societal rules with powerful new single ‘RuLe’

Mysterious pop icon Ado has released her latest music video for ‘RuLe’ ahead of her second album ‘Zanmu’.

A potent anthem that confronts societal norms, ‘RuLe’ was digitally released on July 5th and serves as the theme song for Fuji TV’s drama ‘Billion x School’, starring Ryosuke Yamada of boy band Hey! Say! JUMP.

Produced by renowned Vocaloid artist MARETU, ‘RuLe’ points out the contradictions inherent in societal rules. Ado’s versatile vocals intertwine seamlessly with a robust melody, crafting a theme song that perfectly encapsulates the drama’s message of breaking free from conventional boundaries.

Directed by Namul and featuring striking illustrations by Ninomae, the music video for ‘RuLe’ juxtaposes rebellion with irony. Clever imagery, such as a baby in a crib surrounded by hands offering rattles and pacifiers while tearing up the rule book, and a pacifier turning into a chainsaw, highlights the theme of perceived power versus actual infantilization.

‘RuLe’ will be included on Ado’s upcoming second original album, ‘Zanmu’, which is scheduled for release on July 10th.
