DISH// have released the video for their latest single ‘PLAN A’. The song serves as the opening theme for the anime adaption of Weekly Shonen Jump published manga ‘The Elusive Samurai’.
‘PLAN A’ incorporates elements of traditional Japanese music, teaming it with the band’s signature rock and pop sound. The lyrics are written by vocalist Takumi Kitamura, who may look familiar to movie fans; also an award winning actor, he has starred in movies, TV shows, and music videos. Most recently, fans may recognise him as Takemichi in the live action ‘Tokyo Revengers’, and Yusuke in the Netflix adaption of ‘Yu Yu Hakusho’. ‘PLAN A’ is another anime tie-in for DISH//, following themes for shows such as ‘Naruto Shippuden’ and ‘My Hero Academia’.
The music video for ‘PLAN A’ mirrors the theme of the anime, with the main character of the show only being good at running away. The video sees a man constantly running away, before eventually giving in and joining the dance party with the band and dancers, decked out in traditional clothing and masks.
‘PLAN A’ is available to purchase on CD, with 3 versions on offer. The CD features artwork by world renowned artist Tadanori Yokoo. One limited version features artwork from the anime and includes a Blu-ray with the creditless anime opening, music video, and making-of. The second limited edition features a Blu-ray of their live performance ‘DISH// HALL TOUR 2023 “TRIANGLE”‘ held at Tokyo Garden Theater on June 29th 2023.

DISH// are a dance rock band, incorporating dance moves with pop infused rock music. They were formed in December 2011, and officially debuted with their first single ‘It’s Alright’ in June 2012. Later in June 2013 the band would sign with Sony Records. They made their major label debut with ‘I Can Hear’ for the 25th ending theme of popular anime ‘Naruto Shippuden’. Since then the band have had multiple songs used in anime, and have released a plethora of singles and albums.
