TORO release club-infused single ‘BOW’ following DEAD POP FESTiVAL performance

Indie rock revivalists TORO have released their latest single ‘BOW’ following their recent performance at SiM-hosted DEAD POP FESTiVAL 2024.

The single, available for digital streaming, infuses house and techno dance beats into the band’s distinctive rock sound, embodying their ethos of “rock music sent from the bedroom”. The band entirely self-recorded ‘BOW’, emphasising sharp, provocative lyrics that stand out against the club-inspired rhythms. According to TORO, the song supports listeners in their daily lives, adding an addictive quality that goes beyond mere easy listening.

TORO, featuring frontman Shuya Umeda, Ryuya Onishi (Drums), and recent addition Shuta Hasegawa (Bass), received a personal invitation from SiM frontman MAH to perform at DEAD POP FESTiVAL 2024. Following YOASOBI’s set, TORO delivered a 7-track setlist on the CHAOS STAGE, blending groovy Britpop and alt-rock tunes reminiscent of the iconic sounds from the 90s and early 2000s. According to a live report on the festival’s site, their performance stood out with a distinctive style and attitude, eschewing typical audience engagement tactics in favor of an authentic, energy-driven approach.
