Yuki Chiba takes the stage at Megan Thee Stallion’s London O2 Arena tour finale

Japan’s enigmatic rap star Yuki Chiba made a surprise appearance at Megan Thee Stallion’s London show on July 17th, marking his first live performance in Europe since retiring his former KOHH persona in 2021.

During the final show of her ‘Hot Girl Summer Tour’ at the O2 Arena, Yuki Chiba took to the stage to perform ‘Mamushi’, the pair’s viral hit from Megan’s independent debut album ‘Megan’. The tour, which began in the US on May 14th, has covered 32 cities, with previous European and UK stops including Birmingham, Manchester, Amsterdam, and Paris. Chiba’s appearance provided an unexpected highlight for the London audience.

Before Yuki Chiba emerged, Megan teased the crowd by saying “We’ve got a real special treat for London tonight”, prompting huge roars as Chiba stepped onto the stage. The audience enthusiastically sang along to the song’s catchy line, “okane kasegu watashi wa star”. This performance marks Chiba’s high-profile return to an international stage since re-entering the music scene in early 2024. He expressed his gratitude in Japanese before leaving the stage, receiving a massive cheer from the crowd.

The collaboration track, which features Japanese lyrics performed by both Chiba and Megan, went viral on TikTok upon the album’s release after Megan posted a video dance video on her official account.

Chiba, who gained global attention with his viral hit ‘Team Tomodachi’ earlier this year, has been actively reshaping his musical identity. The success of his viral track and his recent collaboration with Megan highlights Chiba’s strong comeback in both the Japanese and international hip-hop scenes.
