ELAIZA unveils POLKADOT STINGRAY produced single ‘FREAK’

ELAIZA has released her latest single ‘FREAK’ along with a music video. The single released digitally on August 7th.

‘FREAK’ is a leap from ELAIZA’s previous single ‘Tamashii’, this time featuring a jazzy indie-rock sound, courtesy of rock band POLKADOT STINGRAY vocalist and guitarist Shizuku who produced the track. The lyrics inspired ELAIZA , noting she felt they contained a message to question yourself in a positive way, partly leading to the idea of the video.

The video was directed by YODEN, who has previously worked with acts such as MONSTER IDOL, saba sister, and a flood of circle. The idea for the video was a collaborative effort between ELAIZA and Shizuku, based on the pair’s concept of “having fun to the fullest”. ELAIZA plays the role of different characters—a female CEO, a musician, a lolita, and a model—all being watched through secret cameras. Eventually, each character reverses roles and becomes the watcher. Shizuku noted that her favourite of the characters in the video is the lolita.

Additionally, ELAIZA has recently been part of the cast for Netflix series ‘Tokyo Swindlers’. As well as this, the show features Denki Groove frontman Pierre Taki. The series released worldwide on July 25th.
