KAMIJO to relocate to Los Angeles in 2025 ahead of 30th anniversary concert

Visual kei virtuoso and Versailles frontman KAMIJO has announced plans to relocate to Los Angeles in the summer of 2025. This significant move aligns with the 30th anniversary of his music career, which he will celebrate with a special concert in Tokyo in July 2025.

KAMIJO made the announcement during the final show of his ‘VIOLET DAWN’ tour at Tokyo’s Spotify O-EAST on August 28th. In a comment about his decision to move to Los Angeles, KAMIJO shared that it’s driven by a desire to immerse himself in film music production, an area that has increasingly influenced his recent work.

KAMIJO also mentioned plans to work with a voice trainer in LA, seeking “creative stimulation” to further his craft. He reassured his fans in Japan that, despite the move, his unique style of music will continue to reach them through modern technology.

“Thank you for your continued support. Next year marks 30 years in my career, a major milestone in my life.

I’ve been able to keep singing for so long thanks to the warm support from my fans and the guidance from everyone involved. I’m truly grateful.

I’ve decided to move my base to LA starting next summer to satisfy my unfulfilled desire for creative stimulation and to further my craft. I want to learn the art of film music production in Hollywood, which I love so much, and reflect it in my music. There’s also a voice trainer there that I want to train with. I want to meet the expectations of my overseas fans even more. There are many reasons for this move, but the main goal is to experience things I haven’t before, grow, and create the best music I can.

Though the physical distance will grow, music can now be delivered from anywhere. I promise to continue bringing my unique style of music to my fans in Japan. Please look forward to it.

Starting in January 2025, I will visit as many places as possible in Japan to express my gratitude for the past 30 years through my songs.”

Before his relocation, KAMIJO plans to embark on a series of tours across South America and North America, though no official dates have been announced. His activities in Japan will continue with the ‘Winter Romantic Concert’ scheduled for December 27th alongside a 16-piece string ensemble at Otemachi Mitsui Hall in Tokyo, followed by a nationwide tour beginning in January 2025. This tour will culminate in a 30th-anniversary concert at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA on July 18th, 2025, where KAMIJO will perform with an orchestra.
