Kenshi Yonezu offers first look at new album 'LOST CORNER' with single 'RED OUT'

Kenshi Yonezu previews ‘LOST CORNER’ album with new track ‘RED OUT’

Kenshi Yonezu has released his new single ‘RED OUT’ ahead of his sixth studio album, ‘LOST CORNER’, set to drop on August 21st.

‘RED OUT’ is a mysterious yet intense song that will serve as the opening track of the new album. Its music video, directed by Kyotaro Hayashi, who also worked on the videos for Yonezu’s hit tracks ‘TEENAGE RIOT’ and ‘M87’, heightens the track’s mystique, featuring Yonezu performing in liminal spaces surrounded by white rabbits.

‘LOST CORNER’ is Yonezu’s follow-up to his 2020 album ‘STRAY SHEEP’, which was Japan’s best-selling album of that year. The new album includes 20 tracks, featuring a mix of recent releases and eight new songs. Notable tracks include ‘Spinning Globe’, the theme for Studio Ghibli’s ‘The Boy and the Heron’, and his massive global hit, the 2022 single ‘KICK BACK’, the opening theme for the highly popular anime ‘Chainsaw Man’. The album also features a duet with AiNA THE END on the track ‘MARGHERITA’.

In addition to the album release, Yonezu has created exclusive content for Spotify, including “Liner Voice+”, where he shares insights into the making of ‘LOST CORNER’. This series will include video podcasts with English subtitles for select tracks, offering fans a deeper understanding of the album. More details about the Spotify-exclusive content will be shared via Spotify Japan’s official X (formerly Twitter) account.

Physical editions of the album, including multiple limited editions, are available for pre-order from CDJapan.
