Ichigo Rinahamu teams with egg magazine gals for GALFY x Donki collab single

Singer and electronic/idol producer Ichigo Rinahamu has teamed up with egg and KOGYARU magazine models for a GALFY x Don Quijote collab single. The track is simply called ‘GALFY5’, as the 5th entry in GALFY’s musical collaborations.

Notably, Ichigo Rinahamu was a founding member of BiS (as Yokoyama Rina), and created the “new age vocal & DJ unit” BPM15Q (formerly known as CY8ER). She’s joined on the track by egg magazine models Momoa and Erica, known musically as softboiledegg, as well as egg off-shoot KOGYARU magazine model Yunachi. Rinahamu penned the lyrics, while KOTONOHOUSE handled the beat and production. It’s one in a series of collaboration singles the streetwear brand GALFY has created.

‘GALFY5’ features Ichigo Rinahamu singing in her signature sweet, breathy high tone. 10 year-old Yunachi is spitting bars, with softboiledegg rapping back and forth. The track has elements of trap and drum ‘n’ bass, feeling nostalgic and evoking heisei era vibes. The video features street snap models and fashionistas hanging out in Shibuya; the home of gyaru.

The single is part of promotions for GALFY’s latest collection in conjunction with Donki titled ‘GALIFORNIA’, playing on the words ‘gyaru’ and ‘California’. The recent resurgence in gyaru style and music is undeniable. Various artists have been making nods to gyaru culture in recent time including f5ve, Rina Sawayama, and Thelma Aoyama.

‘GALFY5’ is available to stream now, with the GALFY x Donki GALIFORNIA collection dropping on September 27th.
