ASP drop ‘Terminal Disease of ASP’ in lead up to Budokan takeover and UK comeback

Alt-idol outfit ASP have released their debut major album ‘Terminal Disease of ASP’ today via Avex Trax. This album sets the stage for their upcoming solo performance at the Nippon Budokan on October 8th. The show, titled We are in BUDOKAN “The floor is all ours!!”, caps off their sprawling 47-prefecture tour, ‘ASP Complementation Plan B’, which saw the group play 50 dates across Japan from May to September.

‘Terminal Disease of ASP’ brings together five new tracks and eight previously released songs, making for a comprehensive snapshot of their musical evolution. The album flexes ASP’s range, swinging between hard-hitting, adrenaline-fuelled cuts with more reflective, emotional moments.

For die-hard fans, the limited edition of the album packs in live footage, a photobook, and behind-the-scenes content, giving an inside look at the intense groundwork behind their latest material.

Alongside the album drop, ASP premiered the video for ‘TOTSUGEKI!!!!!’, directed by Nanase Akiyama and produced by Hattori Pro. The clip mixes laid-back Y2K aesthetics with the group’s trademark intensity, while flaunting their newly revealed studded performance gear. Sharp choreography unfolds against backdrops that echo the recurring themes of struggle and resilience woven throughout their music.

As ASP gear up for their Budokan debut, the group have been looking back on the road that brought them here. Their 47-prefecture tour not only sharpened their stagecraft but also deepened their connection with fans, with the band personally selling tickets for their Budokan performance at each stop. Speaking to OTOTOY ahead of the show, the members reflected on the significance of the moment, viewing Budokan not just as a milestone but as a springboard for what’s next. “Initially, I thought aiming for Budokan was reckless, but now that it’s almost here, I’m ready to go all out”, said Yumeka Nowkana?. “This is the perfect timing for ASP, and we’re going to make it unforgettable”.

On the international front, ASP are set to make their return to the UK for WACK in the UK Vol. 4 on November 27, sharing the stage with fellow WACK heavyweights ExWHYZ and MAMESHiBA NO TAiGUN. This marks ASP’s fourth time hitting UK shores.
