Visual kei mainstays NIGHTMARE have just announced a hugely long awaited first European tour. Titled ‘NIGHTMARE The WORLD TOUR’, it will begin in January 2025.
Formed in 2000, NIGHTMARE will finally make their European debut, coinciding with the band’s 25th anniversary. The tour will cover nine shows across seven countries, starting in Helsinki on January 18th and concluding in Madrid on February 2nd.
Many overseas fans first discovered NIGHTMARE through their anime openings and endings. They were responsible for the first DEATH NOTE opening ‘The WORLD’ (the tour’s namesake), and ending ‘Alumina’, amongst multiple others.
The band released their latest album ‘NOX:LUX’ in 2022, and a series of 3 singles each with 3 tracks through 2023. The band’s latest digital singles, ‘Kuon’ and ‘Labyrinth’, were released on August 21st this year. Physical copies of previous releases are available via CDJapan.

Following the European tour, NIGHTMARE will embark on a major 50-date nationwide tour in Japan starting on March 15th. The tour final is yet to be announced.

About NIGHTMARE
NIGHTMARE are a five-piece visual kei rock band formed in Sendai on January 1st 2000, with YOMI on vocals, HITSUGI and SAKITO on guitar, Ni~ya on bass, and RUKA on drums. After building a following through Japan's live-house circuit, they made their major debut with '-Believe-' in August 2003. The band found global cult success in 2006 when 'the WORLD' and 'Alumina' were used as the first opening and ending themes for the DEATH NOTE anime. NIGHTMARE went on to play their first Nippon Budokan concert in 2007 and established themselves as a long-running force in visual kei. The band paused activities in 2016 and resumed in 2020, returning to the stage at Yokohama Arena before releasing the album 'NOX:LUX' in 2022. Their 25th anniversary in 2025 brought their first European tour, their first 47-prefecture tour of Japan, and a Nippon Budokan finale. NIGHTMARE have remained active through 2026, releasing the singles 'Reach for' and 'Kyokuyakou' and launching another Japan tour. They are also due to perform two shows at Manga Barcelona in December 2026 marking the 20th anniversary of 'the WORLD'.
