Alt-pop project CHAMELEON LIME WHOOPIEPIE have been announced as part of the line-up for The Great Escape Festival 2025. Taking place in Brighton from May 14th–17th, the festival has earned a reputation as Europe’s biggest launchpad for emerging talent, hosting over 450 artists across more than 35 venues.
The act, led by vocalist and songwriter Chi-, have been steadily gaining international recognition since debuting with ‘Dear Idiot’ in 2019. Known for their genre-fluid approach and DIY ethos, CHAMELEON LIME WHOOPIEPIE merge inventive production with an irreverent style, drawing influences from alternative pop, punk, and dance. The group have built a reputation for standout live shows, with appearances at festivals such as SXSW in Texas, SUMMER SONIC in Japan, and BPM JUNIOR in Hong Kong.
CHAMELEON LIME WHOOPIEPIE’s performance at TGE 2025, their first UK festival appearance, promises to bring the genre-hopping chaos that has earned them acclaim on international stages. Described by CLASH as “cartoonish rap meets rock with outrageous levels of glee”, their live shows combine stylish musicianship with theatrical flair. Showcasing the creative vision of Chi- and her collaborators, Whoopies No.1 and No.2, who handle every element of the project’s music and visuals, their set delivers an experience that has drawn comparisons to Beastie Boys and CHAI.

In the past, the group have worked with former FEVER 333 guitarist Stephen Harrison on ‘Whoopie is a Punkrocker’ and teamed up with Tokyo hip-hop artist and producer PES for their latest single, ‘REACH’.
The Great Escape has faced a year of scrutiny following the controversy surrounding its former sponsor Barclays, which the festival officially dropped in October. However, the 2025 line-up aims to refocus attention on the festival’s role in championing forward-thinking new artists.
Super early bird and early bird tickets for TGE 2025 have already sold out, but three-day festival saver and team saver tickets are still available through the official TGE website.
