Otoboke Beaver guitarist Yoyoyoshie has joined forces with Fender to celebrate Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary, starring in a new promotional video for the Fender x Hello Kitty 50th Anniversary Collection. The collection launched today, November 12th.
In the video, Yoyoyoshie rips into Otoboke Beaver’s 2017 track ‘S’il Vous Plait’ on Fender’s Hello Kitty Stratocaster paired with the HELLO KITTY FUZZ pedal, mashing her trademark intensity with Kitty’s aggressively pink, nostalgic aesthetic. Teaming up with the beloved Sanrio mascot, Yoyoyoshie fuses the sugary-sweet nature of Hello Kitty’s design with Otoboke Beaver’s unapologetically chaotic sound.
The Fender x Hello Kitty collection features three Hello Kitty Squier Stratocaster designs, based off Fender’s original iconic run from the 2000s. The collection also includes two HELLO KITTY FUZZ pedals, along with gig bags, guitar cables, straps, picks, accessories, and a range of apparel.

The Fender x Hello Kitty 50th Anniversary Collection arrives at a busy time for Yoyoyoshie and Otoboke Beaver, as they kick off their 2024 Japan tour in Kyoto the same day. The tour will take the band to ten cities across Japan, wrapping up with two nights at Osaka’s Misono Universe on December 14th and 15th. In January 2025, Otoboke Beaver will join UK band IDLES in Tokyo as special guests for their Zepp DiverCity performance.
