STARKIDS return with 'G-SPOT', their first album in 3 years

STARKIDS set to hit the “G-SPOT” with first album in three years

Tokyo-based six-member music collective STARKIDS are gearing up to release their first album in three years, ‘G-SPOT’.

Before anyone jumps to conclusions, the title has a multifaceted meaning. To reassure any skeptics, each member offered their own interpretation: “Gold Spot”, “God Spot”, “Genki Spot” (Energetic Spot), “Gaijin Spot” (Foreigner Spot), “Gōryū Spot” (Hangout Spot), and “Genkin Spot” (Cash Spot). The name also nods to their collective and label, guntai9—nothing risqué about it.

levi, a central voice in STARKIDS, reflected on the album’s creation and its significance to the group:

“I feel like this is an album that only STARKIDS could create. It wouldn’t work if even one of us were missing—this album came to life because the six of us have come this far together. Of course, it’s packed with tracks you can dance to, but I think there are songs that’ll make everyone listening feel empowered and confident, like, ‘I’m so cool’. There’s no point in me rambling—just listen and feel it for yourself. We love you all. Forever stars, forever kids.”

Earlier this month, STARKIDS stirred online speculation with a cryptic social media post along with the caption, “thank you”. Fans floated theories of a breakup or a rebrand, but in true STARKIDS fashion, it turned out to be a prank.

The album features a diverse lineup of collaborators, including producers lileffort, tonser, sg Lily, maple, and goonyears. Notable tracks include ‘World is Ours’, which reimagines supercell’s iconic ‘World is Mine’ with vocals from Vocaloid legend Hatsune Miku, and ‘STAY BACK’, featuring American rapper and producer Deko. Fans who purchase the physical edition will also receive a bonus track, making a total of ten songs.

‘G-SPOT’ will be available for streaming from November 22nd, with the physical edition set to release on November 25th. Early copies will be sold at Tower Records Shibuya, alongside an exclusive release-day event. CD purchasers will gain access to a celebratory performance by STARKIDS at the store’s B1F CUTUP STUDIO.

About STARKIDS

STARKIDS are a six-member music unit based in Tokyo, emerging during the peak of the hyperpop craze in the early 2020s. Their genre-fluid approach blends elements of eurobeat, happy hardcore-inspired EDM, and hard-hitting trap and hip hop. The group—comprised of Space Boy, BENXNI, TAHITI, levi, espeon, and ROAR—pair high-energy instrumentals with a mix of catchy pop melodies and rap verses in both English and Japanese. Their distinctive style has gained attention both in the Tokyo live music scene and online.

In addition to their music, STARKIDS have established their own collective and label, guntai9, which has become a hub for global talent. Their taglines, “Forever Stars, Forever Kids” and “Time to Shine with the 9”, reflect their aspirations for international recognition. With a growing presence on stage and in the studio, STARKIDS continue to expand their reach while maintaining a strong connection to their Tokyo roots.
