XG are back with their second mini-album, ‘AWE’, released today, November 8th. This follow-up to their breakout 2023 mini-album ‘NEW DNA’ marks a year of bold moves for the group as they dive deeper into their hybrid blend of pop, hip-hop, and R&B.
Accompanying the mini-album, XG dropped the lead single ‘HOWLING’, along with an eye-popping music video that continues their narrative of resilience and transformation.
AWE explores the tension of facing the unknown, evoking fear and fascination in equal measure. The eight-track collection includes the punchy, ’90s-tinged ‘SOMETHING AIN’T RIGHT’ and ‘IYKYK’, as well as the all-star remix of ‘WOKE UP’, featuring prominent Japanese and Korean hip-hop artists like Awich, OZworld, Dok2, and Jay Park. The standout track, ‘HOWLING’, anchors the release, fusing sharp upright basslines with layered synths to amplify XG’s evolving sound. Its hook, “THAT’S HOW WE HOWL”, doubles as both a declaration and a rallying cry for their dedicated fanbase, the ALPHAZ.

The ‘HOWLING’ music video amps up dystopian themes, with XG making a dramatic entrance from space to disrupt a sterile, controlled city. It’s a bold metaphor for their mission to challenge norms and rewrite the rulebook. With its mix of sci-fi elements and urban grit, the video underscores XG’s tight-knit unity and relentless drive, portraying them as a modern wolf pack ready to carve their own path.
Since their 2022 debut, XG have built a reputation for breaking the mold. Operating out of South Korea but comprised entirely of Japanese members, they’ve carved out a distinct space in the global pop scene with English-language tracks and a genre-blending sound that continues to evolve with ‘AWE’.
Moreover, XG are set to bring AWE to Europe this month as part of their first world tour, ‘The First HOWL’, kicking off in Manchester on November 18th, followed by a show at London’s OVO Arena Wembley on November 19th.
