Underground idol group pinponpanpon return with their latest single, ‘Maidnight Ravers’, accompanied by a music video that transforms a typical maid café into an after-hours rave.
Produced by the group’s manager, French Cries, the track—released December 12th—melds J-pop, EDM, and hip-hop, promoting self-expression and rebelling against routines. Set in a maid café after hours, the video shows maids throwing a wild party once their “masters” leave for the day, a stark contrast between their dutiful daytime roles and their rebellious nightlife antics.
Mixing booming basslines, energetic beats, and pinponpanpon’s signature delivery, alongside high-octane dance breaks and earworm choruses, the track maintains a relentless pace that matches the maid club visuals
The release also marks the debut of Tokyo, pinponpanpon’s newest member, who was introduced last month in the group’s YouTube video, ‘Welcome to Tokyo’. The eccentric backstory—featuring a “Pinpon ritual” involving Y2K socks, pink powder, and even a Japanese radish—encapsulates the group’s tongue-in-cheek approach to idol culture.
pinponpanpon marked the release with a pop-up maid café in Harajuku, where fans could sample dishes and drinks created by the group themselves.
