SiM, coldrain, MAN WITH A MISSION, and more unite for REDLINE supergroup single

MAH of SiM leads a powerhouse lineup of Japan’s loud rock icons—including members of coldrain, MAN WITH A MISSION, FACT, and Crystal Lake—on ‘REDLINE’, a one-off digital single now available on streaming platforms.

Billed as a loud rock equivalent of ‘We Are the World’, the single unites REDLINE DREAM BAND—a supergroup featuring 29 artists, including powerhouse vocalists like Masato (coldrain), Kenta Koie (Crossfaith), Hiro (SHADOWS/FACT), and Jean-ken Johnny (MAN WITH A MISSION), along with a tight instrumental ensemble featuring DAIDAI (Paledusk), YD (Crystal Lake), Tatsuya (Crossfaith), and more.

Arriving just before the farewell festival REDLINE ALL THE FINAL at Chiba’s Makuhari Messe on December 7th and 8th, the track is a tribute to REDLINE’s role in championing Japan’s heavy music scene since its launch in 2010.

Early listeners have praised the single for managing to feel cohesive despite the ambitious lineup of artists. Each contributor leaves their mark—rap-rock swagger from Jean-ken Johnny, Jesse, amongst others; an anthemic chorus; and crushing breakdowns. The track closes with gang vocals repeating, “I know I’ll see you again, so I won’t call it the end”, a fitting goodbye while leaving the door open for the future.

Festival organiser Suzuki Kentaro, director of Japan Music System (JMS), called the single a “declaration to ROCK” and called for fans’ support in spreading the track. Meanwhile, speculation is mounting online about a live performance of the track during the festival, though nothing has been confirmed.

REDLINE ALL THE FINAL will feature 52 acts across two jam-packed days, including FACT, Maximum The Hormone, Awich, and Crossfaith.
