Azavana have just revealed their first official single titled ‘Haiiro no umi o oyogu hotaru’ (‘Fireflies swimming in the grey sea’), along with a (literally) fiery music video.
Born from the ashes of Ashmaze., Azavana formed last September by the band’s remaining members, plus new vocalist Ryo. They promptly dropped 2 mini albums ‘0=’ and ‘Kaisouroku’ in November. However, we had to wait until now for their 1st official single, although it still has no release date for streaming or CD.
Following their introductory music video for ‘Azabana’ (‘Bruised Flowers’) back in September, ‘Haiiro no umi o oyogu hotaru’ comes as a new year’s treat. The track opens with stylish finger tapping guitarwork, and each member has a chance to shine throughout with their individual parts being heard loud and clear.
In addition to the single and music video, Azavana also revealed their new look on the same day, making their mark on the new year.
Azavana wrapped up 2024 with a slot at Royz’ sold out new year’s festival COUNT DOWN LIVE – GOD FES, a day long new year’s countdown festival featuring 12 bands including Royz, RAZOR, Codomo Dragon and more.
The band will kick off their ‘Akashi’ nationwide oneman tour on February 14th, with the tour final scheduled for April 30th at Tokyo’s LIQUIDROOM.

About Azavana
Azavana formed in September 2024 with the remaining members of Ashmaze. following the departure of vocalist Souma. Notably, due to their new vocalist’s name also being Ryo, guitarist Ryo became Ryohei. The band released their first music video ‘Azabana’ on September 2nd that same year. Not letting themselves stop for a moment, they also released two mini albums in November; ‘0=’ and ‘Kaisouroku’. Azavana are Ryo (vo.), Shiyu and Ryohei (gt.), Ryu (ba.), and S1TK (dr.).
