CHAMELEON LIME WHOOPIEPIE drop drama tie-in single ‘Secret March’

Alt-pop act CHAMELEON LIME WHOOPIEPIE have released their latest digital single, ‘Secret March’, their first collaboration with a television drama. The track features as the ending theme for TV Tokyo’s suspense romance Zaibatsu Revenge: To My Ex-Wife Who Became My Brother’s Wife, which debuted on January 6th.

‘Secret March’ draws inspiration from the intricacies of human relationships, curiosity, and the allure of secrecy. The song incorporates a sample of Mozart’s ‘Turkish March’, along with music box tones and layered with dark, pop-infused melodies. Lead vocalist and songwriter Chi- described the track as mirroring the balance between what people wish to uncover and what is better left unknown. Chi- explained:

“The music box tones at the beginning sound cute, but depending on your mood, they might come across as eerie or unsettling.”

The series stars Keisuke Watanabe and Miori Takimoto and follows Yukiya, the second son of the powerful Ise Zaibatsu family, as he seeks revenge after a devastating betrayal by his wife and brother. The creative team behind Zaibatsu Revenge praised the band for their work, with TV Tokyo producer Yuta Kurachi commenting:

“Before filming began, while I was fully immersed in the script for Zaibatsu Revenge, I listened to a demo of ‘Secret March’ that was created based solely on the drama’s world. From that moment, the song became the embodiment of the drama’s atmosphere and imagery. Combined with Chi-’s unforgettable voice, the track exudes an unstable, dangerous, and mysterious allure.”

The release of ‘Secret March’ comes after CHAMELEON LIME WHOOPIEPIE’s November 2024 single ‘Flower’, which dropped just days after announcing their UK debut at The Great Escape Festival 2025 this May.
