HARU NEMURI launches independent label to pursue DIY and anarchic vision

Riot grrrl eccentric HARU NEMURI has announced her shift to independence, establishing her own self-managed label, ekkolaptόmenos. The news was shared during her free solo performance, ‘Hitoride Nererumon! vol.9’, held at KICHIJOJI SHUFFLE in Tokyo on January 10th, which also happened to be her birthday.

The name ekkolaptόmenos is derived from the Greek word ekkolápto (to hatch), with the suffix -menos forming a coined word that conveys both the act of “hatching and being hatched”, she explained in a statement about the label. She described the term as embodying cycles of creation and transformation: “fostering while being fostered, birthing while being born, and destruction giving way to regeneration”.

Explaining her motivation for going independent, HARU NEMURI said:

“As my creative skills have developed, I’ve felt an increasingly strong desire to pursue activities that are more DIY and anarchistic in nature.”

Known for her independent ethos and outspoken feminist views, HARU NEMURI’s work consistently challenges the norm, making her move to launch a self-managed label a natural progression.

In tandem with the label’s launch, HARU NEMURI introduced a new Patreon page called STUDIO. Through this platform, fans will gain access to exclusive content, including unreleased demos and behind-the-scenes material.

HARU NEMURI will also co-headline a special two-man live event at SHINJUKU LOFT on February 13th, performing alongside WACK unit ExWHYZ.
