ONE OK ROCK go heavy on ‘C.U.R.I.O.S.I.T.Y.’ with Paledusk and CHICO CARLITO

ONE OK ROCK have released the official video for ‘C.U.R.I.O.S.I.T.Y.’, featuring Paledusk and rapper CHICO CARLITO. The track is taken from the band’s eleventh studio album ‘DETOX’, released earlier this year via Fueled By Ramen.

Directed by Masaki Watanabe (maxilla), who previously worked on Creepy Nuts’ ‘Otonoke’, the video puts all three acts in a blacked-out studio with fast, rhythmic cuts matching the track’s stop-start pacing. There’s no storyline or high-concept framing — just sharp lighting and heavy edits that track with the song’s mix of metalcore, alt-rock, and hip-hop. Taka’s vocals lead with a sense of urgency, with lines like “Time to wake up, there’s a war inside” pushing the track’s themes of unrest and internal pressure.

Bringing together scenes rarely seen side by side on a major label release, CHICO CARLITO drops a tightly constructed verse in Japanese, while Paledusk bring the weight, trading off with ONE OK ROCK in what plays out like a battle-of-the-bands stand-off. Guitarist DAIDAI and vocalist KAITO, both credited on production, help push it into rougher, more unpredictable territory.

The video arrives ahead of the North American leg of ONE OK ROCK’s DETOX World Tour, which begins May 13th in Vancouver and includes two nights at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre. They will also support Linkin Park at Paris’ Stade de France in July before returning to Japan for a series of stadium shows.

In October, the band return to Europe along with Paledusk for their biggest run on the continent so far, with headline dates at Manchester’s AO Arena and London’s O2 Arena. ‘C.U.R.I.O.S.I.T.Y.’ is the first official collaboration between the two bands, building on DAIDAI’s production work across the ‘DETOX’ album.
