WEDNESDAY CAMPANELLA have announced their upcoming Asia-Europe tour, SUMMER TIME GHOST, set to take place this summer. These will be the band’s first European shows with vocalist Utaha.
Starting on June 8th in Seoul, the Asia leg continues with stops in Taipei and Bangkok. The Europe leg begins on July 27th in London, before heading to Milan and Paris, concluding with a bonus appearance at OFF Festival in Katowice on August 2nd.
The tour follows the release of their latest single ‘Summer Time Ghost’. The track serves as the opening theme for the anime Kowloon Generic Romance, which is currently airing on Crunchyroll. Released earlier this month via Warner Music Japan, the song pairs brisk dance-pop production with lyrics about a fleeting summer romance. Its themes mirror the anime’s neo-noir atmosphere.
Additionally, vocalist Utaha will appear in the upcoming Paripi Koumei (Ya Boy Kongming!) film as singer-songwriter Shin. The song ‘again and again’, written by Soushi Sakiyama and performed by Utaha as Shin, was released digitally on April 23rd. The film opened in cinemas across Japan today, April 25th.
Tickets for the European dates of the WEDNESDAY CAMPANELLA SUMMER TIME GHOST tour will go on sale Friday, April 25th at 6pm. Ticketing details will be announced soon.
About WEDNESDAY CAMPANELLA
Formed in 2012, WEDNESDAY CAMPANELLA first gained attention for their genre-fluid releases and visually inventive music videos. In 2021, the group entered a new phase following the departure of original vocalist KOM_I, with Utaha joining and debuting on the dual-track single ‘Alice / Buckingham’. Since then, WEDNESDAY CAMPANELLA have continued to release material spanning pop, hip hop, and EDM.
In 2022, the track ‘Edison’ became a viral hit on TikTok, with videos featuring the song amassing over 2.7 billion views by the end of the year. By April 2023, ‘Edison’ had surpassed 100 million streams on Billboard JAPAN’s streaming chart.
Their return to Poland’s OFF Festival in August marks their first appearance at the event since a celebrated debut in 2018.
