Tokyo rock outfit go!go!vanillas provide the ending theme for SAKAMOTO DAYS Part 2, streaming worldwide via Netflix from July 14th.
Titled ‘Dandelion’, the track shifts focus away from protagonist Taro Sakamoto’s past as a legendary hitman, instead capturing the quieter, more personal slice of life moments that follow the madness of the show. According to frontman Tatsuya Maki, the band approached the song from the perspective of “the peace and price he pays as he returns home after the fight”.
The Tokyo-based four-piece Maki (vo./gt.), Shintaro Yanagisawa (gt.), Keisuke “Pretty” Hasegawa (ba.), and Jett Seiya (dr.), have expressed long-standing admiration for Yuto Suzuki’s manga, which has been running in Weekly Shonen Jump since 2020 and has surpassed 12 million copies in circulation worldwide.

A preview for ‘Dandelion’ features in the second promotional video for the series, released earlier today, which previews the anime’s next arc. Part 2 introduces the powerful assassin unit ORDER, along with a clash involving the Sakamoto Store crew and a group of death row convicts unleashed by the mysterious figure known as Slur.
go!go!vanillas, who recently transitioned to IRORI Records, continue to grow their reach both in Japan and overseas. Following a successful two-day stint at Makuhari Messe earlier this year, the band made their UK live debut at The Great Escape 2025 in Brighton, joining labelmates Kroi, Ako, and Bialystocks for a special showcase. Their sold-out First Lab. TOUR kicks off in July, and they’ll return to the road in the autumn for an extensive hall tour through early 2026, followed by their first arena shows in Kobe, Tokyo, and Nagoya next spring.
Details on the official release of go!go!vanillas’ ending theme for SAKAMOTO DAYS Part 2 have yet to be announced.
go!go!vanillas comment
“Weekly Shonen Jump has been my bible, teaching me how to live my life from childhood to today. Its thrilling battle scenes, unforgettable characters, and powerful words have always stirred my heart. I’m deeply grateful to Yuto Suzuki-sensei for preserving the greatness of old-school manga while delivering a punch of innovation.
As a fan who loves this work, I was really happy to have this opportunity.
The ending theme, ‘Dandelion’, was created not to focus on Sakamoto’s action-oriented side as an assassin, but on the peace and price he pays as he returns home after the fight.
I’m especially looking forward to the second season because it features ORDER, which I love. Please give it lots of listens.”
