AiNA THE END has released her new single ‘On The Way’ (‘Kakumei Dōchū’), the opening theme for DAN DA DAN season 2, which began airing July 3rd.
Penned by AiNA and co-composed with producer Shin Sakiura, ‘On The Way’ captures the surreal and unpredictable energy of DAN DA DAN, balancing erratic shifts in absurd humour, high-stakes action, and gut-wrenching moments.
AiNA’s lyrics draw from the relationship between the anime’s protagonists, Momo and Okarun, focusing on love as a source of strength. The track shifts between moody verses, laid-back interludes, and a fast-paced, hook-driven chorus built with live audiences in mind.
The single arrived alongside a music video directed by G2 YUKI TSUJIMOTO, their first collaboration since 2023’s ‘Love Sick’, which won Best Alternative Video at the MTV VMAJ. Casting AiNA in dual roles as both human and yokai, the video builds toward a rain-soaked climax where the human AiNA tears away her yokai horns.

‘On The Way’ continues a run of anime-related work from AiNA, following contributions to The Apothecary Diaries, Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, and Mononoke The Movie. It also arrives ahead of her nine-city Kakumei Dōchū solo tour beginning in October, with stops including Zepp Osaka Bayside and Zepp DiverCity Tokyo.
In June, AiNA published her first memoir, ‘Even If I’m Not Good at It’ (‘Tasshaja Nakutemo’), a personal account of her creative life after BiSH. Released through Gentosha, the 272-page book reflects on her work as a solo performer, actor, and songwriter. It touches on themes of self-worth, artistic struggle, and identity. As her official debut as an author, the book adds another layer to her growing body of work.
The single is available digitally now, with a CD release scheduled for September 3rd. DAN DA DAN Season 2 is currently streaming worldwide on Netflix and Crunchyroll.
