Fujii Kaze has premiered the official video for ‘I Need U Back’, the fourth music video in support of his third album ‘Prema’.
Released amid his North American tour, the video continues the globe-spanning rollout of Prema, following earlier videos filmed in France (‘Love Like This’) and Thailand (‘Prema’). Directed by L.A.-based choreographer and visual artist Nina McNeely, it features 1970s funk, 1980s New Romantic, and avant-pop styling that mirrors the track’s nostalgic tone, from Kaze’s androgynous glam looks to the cast’s disco suits, punk-goth ensembles, and noir-inspired fashion. Although Fujii Kaze and his team have not officially confirmed the filming location, visual comparison strongly suggests the video was shot, at least in part, at Blue Cloud Movie Ranch in Santa Clarita, California.
Arriving in September via Universal and Republic, ‘Prema’ is Kaze’s first outwardly global album, built around nine all-English tracks drawing from R&B, funk, and retro-rooted pop.

The video’s release comes alongside the broadcast of NHK MUSIC SPECIAL Fujii Kaze: Now, in the World earlier today. Narrated by actor Taiga Nakano, the 45-minute documentary follows the three-year production of ‘Prema’, tracing Kaze’s recording sessions in Los Angeles, Tokyo, and South Korea. It also includes footage from the filming of the ‘Love Like This’ video, his performance at Lollapalooza Chicago, and a surprise live show in Bangkok on June 13th, the eve of his birthday. The program follows last December’s NHK MUSIC SPECIAL Fujii Kaze: Climb to the World, which introduced international audiences to his rise beyond Japan. A rebroadcast of the new special airs on October 14th at 12:35 AM JST.
Kaze is currently in the midst of his FUJII KAZE NORTH AMERICA TOUR 2025, with recent stops including Mexico City, Houston, and Atlanta. The tour wraps up on October 11th with an appearance at Austin City Limits Music Festival.
