The first world tour by city pop legend Masayoshi Takanaka has expanded, with additional dates announced for London, New York and Los Angeles after all five original shows sold out on the day of release.
Live Nation has confirmed that City Pop Waves: Masayoshi Takanaka SUPER TAKANAKA WORLD LIVE 2026 will now include extra performances at O2 Academy Brixton, Brooklyn Paramount, and Hollywood Palladium. Demand for the tour has surged since tickets first went on sale, driven by renewed international interest in city pop and the momentum from Takanaka’s rapid sellout at The Wiltern in 2024.

The newly added dates will take place on April 1st in London, April 5th in New York, and April 13th in Los Angeles. Tickets for all three shows will go on general sale on Friday November 21st at 10:00 AM local time through Live Nation and Ticketmaster.
Takanaka’s management notes that these additions come in response to sustained demand across both markets. The tour will once again feature his restored surfboard guitar, a cult instrument rarely seen since its mid-2000s debut.
