Crossfaith frontman Kenta Koie launches solo project AFTERVOID

Crossfaith vocalist Kenta Koie has announced his new solo project AFTERVOID, releasing his first new music since the band confirmed an indefinite hiatus in 2025.

The project debuted on February 8th with ‘RUNNING AWAY (Destruction Test Remix)’, which introduces AFTERVOID through a collision of hard techno and metal, with Koie’s vocals and screams at the centre of the track.

The project’s announcement drew responses from artists in Japan, alongside support from Enter Shikari, long-time collaborators and friends of Koie. Fans also shared messages welcoming his return to activity.

The launch comes shortly after Koie’s onstage appearance at day one of coldrain’s BLARE FEST. in Nagoya on February 7th, where he joined ONE OK ROCK alongside coldrain’s Masato and SiM’s MAH for the first live performance of their joint track ‘Skyfall’ since 2018.

Crossfaith announced an indefinite hiatus in summer 2025 following the dismissal of guitarist Daiki Koide. Koie issued a public statement at the time, acknowledging his handling of the situation and the circumstances that led to the band’s decision to pause activity.
