Tokyo R&B, funk, rock and hip-hop collective Kroi have released their latest single ‘Kinetic’, recorded in London with Incognito frontman Bluey during the band’s trip to The Great Escape 2025 in the UK.
Their first release of 2026, the track was recorded at Bluey’s Colibri Sound Recorders studio in East London. ‘Kinetic’ was tracked live with Bluey overseeing production and contributing additional percussion and brass arrangements, taking points from Incognito’s acid jazz playbook. It’s also the first time Kroi have worked with an external producer.
The collaboration stems from a long-standing connection to Incognito’s catalogue, with vocalist and guitarist Leo Uchida recalling learning their material during his early music education. The opportunity to work together developed around Kroi’s first live appearance in the UK in May, leading to a three-day session shortly after their arrival in London.

A recording documentary released on March 25th documents the sessions at Colibri Sound Recorders, showing Kroi working closely with Bluey in the studio.
Since forming in 2018, Kroi have progressed from club shows to major stages in Japan. They made their major debut with ‘LENS’ in 2021 and played a sold-out Nippon Budokan in 2024. The band opened 2026 with arena shows in Osaka and Tokyo, and are set to appear on the White Stage at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL ’26 in July, before heading out on their six-date Zepp tour JUNGLE in August.
