Harajuku pop queen Kyary Pamyu Pamyu returns with ‘Focus Focus’, a funky house single for the summer. The track dropped digitally on June 24th, with the music video following on June 29th.
‘Focus Focus’ is a dreamy house jam, written and produced by Kyary’s longtime producer Yasutaka Nakata. A funky bassline flows throughout along with classic Nakata motifs like electronic chimes, and simple repetitive lyrics, perfect for singing along.
The accompanying video, directed by Masaki Watanabe, uses the song’s theme of prisms, light bending, and focus to create mesmerising visuals. Fans can also now take a look behind the scenes of the shoot, which includes comments from choreographer MAIKO, as well as Kyary.
2026 also marks Kyary’s 15th anniversary as a music artist. Kyary’s day festival PAMYU FES will be held on August 22nd at Kanagawa Pia Arena MM, and features a lineup of ATARASHII GAKKO!, Kishidan, Kaela Kimura, FRUITS ZIPPER, and MONGOL800. Tickets are available now via Ticket Pia, Lawson Ticket, and eplus (Japan only).
