VK club event Visual-kei Night will hold a daytime boat party in London on August 23rd, celebrating their 7th anniversary. The 18+ event will take the VK party to The Lower Deck at Tamesis Dock, running from 1pm to 6pm.
The event follows Visual-kei Night founder and DJ Kaoru Nagata’s appearance at B7KLAN J-ROCK FEST earlier this month. Joining Kaoru on decks (and deck) is event regular Hollie. Both DJs will be spinning a range of visual kei songs with a theme of summer, while being able to enjoy some sunshine and views of London not normally seen by late night club-goers. Additionally, food such as dosa and pizza will be available at the event, making for a summer party feel.
Starting seven years ago, Visual-kei Night has become a staple of London’s (quite literal) underground scene, making their home in Islington basement bar THE VAULT (formerly The BSMT). Since the event began, it’s expanded overseas with events in Warsaw and Paris, as well as DJing at events around the UK. The summer boat party marks the event’s 17th edition.
Visual-kei Night have previously collaborated with various VK acts like KAMIJO, JILUKA, and ACME, hosting special videos from the artists at events, as well as organising live shows with artists such as KOUKI, and his upcoming show with enka trio Sakura Zensen.
Kaoru will also be DJing at the inaugural TOKYO AFTER DARK event on July 25th; a self organised Japanese music event from VK singer and voice actor Miura Ayme.
Tickets for Visual-kei Night’s 7th anniversary summer boat party are available now via eventbrite.
