Yuki Chiba enlists CHANMINA for ‘Annyeonghaseyo’ remix

Yuki Chiba has released ‘Annyeonghaseyo (CHANMINA Remix)’, the latest remix of his viral hit, across streaming services today, July 15th, alongside the accompanying music video on YouTube.

The original ‘Annyeonghaseyo’, released in January and featuring Lee Hwi-min of Korean producer unit GroovyRoom under the name Lil Moshpit, spread worldwide via TikTok. Korean artists including TWICE posted videos using the song, and it was even used on the South Korean president Lee Jae Myung’s official TikTok account.

CHANMINA joins the remix fresh from selling out both dates of her Tokyo Dome run on July 11th and 12th. Her newly recorded verse draws on her roots as the daughter of a Japanese father and a Korean mother, and references ‘Dunggeulge Dunggeulge’ (‘둥글게 둥글게’), a children’s song long beloved in Korea.

Recording took place at Chiba’s studio in Los Angeles, where the two artists completed the track through a series of production sessions on location. The pair also shared a bill on May 16th at the inaugural Zipangu, a one-day festival at Brookside at The Rose Bowl in Pasadena. CHANMINA’s set was her first in North America, while Chiba took the penultimate slot ahead of headliner Ado.
